Tyax Mountain Lake Resort

I was hired as an architectural/CAD consultant to make a winter site visit to the remote Tyax ski lodge in the Chilcotin Mountains back in 2008.  John Hidi, the former building inspector (and current consultant for SLRD), and I drove several hours from Pemberton, BC up the old Hurley Pass.  The roads were treacherous at times and we meandered through deep snow and various obstacles, stopping occasionally for a scenic or humorous photo.  The purpose of the visit was to photograph and field measure all of the existing structures on the greater resort property.  The main lodge was the key focus since it was going to be going through a major remodel.  The other purpose was to acquire as much property data as possible for the various lots that surrounded the main lodge.  These lots were either vacant or had existing cabins on them, some small and some quite large.  All of the original lot owner information had been “lost” during a fire that consumed all of the old records for SLRD.  The SLRD personally thanked me for putting together such a nice map, designating the actual property boundaries and providing detailed owner data, including contact information.
